He had three brothers and eight sisters, named Henry Porter, Michael J., William Porter, Ailsey, Deborah, Eliza C., Emaline A., Martha, Mary A., Penelope and Susan Porter. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Alexander Porter, Jeremiah Nicholson, Pharoah Cobb and Rebecca Cathren.-
