Susan was born in 1842 in Virginia.1 Susan's father was Emanuel Louderback and her mother was Anna McCoy. Her paternal grandparents were David Louderback and Susanna L.. She had two brothers and two sisters, named George R., John L., Sarah and Mary. She was the oldest of the five children.-
