Peter was born in 1864 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Peter's father was John M. Klepper and his mother was Delilah Simmons. His paternal grandparents were Peter Klepper and Catherine Myers; his maternal grandparents were George Simmons and Catherine Loudermilch. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Hiram, William R., Roena, Mary, Barbara C. and Rosa C.. He was the third oldest of the seven children.-
