Mary Jane Kite 
Mary Jane was born in 1847 in Virginia.1 Mary Jane's father was William Kite and her mother was Elizabeth Kite. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Kite and Susannah Kite. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Philip, George Martin, Fielding Wise, Henry J., Barbara, Elizabeth and Arabella. She was the third oldest of the nine children.-
