James Matson Johnston 
James Matson was born in 1841 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 James Matson's father was Joseph Rogers Johnston and his mother was Diana Beal. His paternal grandparents were John C. Johnston and Mary Rogers; his maternal grandparents were John Beal and Mary Elizabeth Bertram. He had two brothers and six sisters, named John Clinton, Harvey Vance, Mary Frances, Lucy Ellen, Lavinia Walker, Sarah Ann, Alice A. and Matilda. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 72 in 1913.1 -
