Samuel Devault Hughes

Samuel Devault was born in 1825 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Samuel Devault's father was Robert Hughes and his mother was Elizabeth Devault.  His paternal grandfather was David Hughes; his maternal grandparents were Gabriel Devault and Magdalene Kitzmiller. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, Henry, David and Edna.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 72 in 1897.¹
