Edward Hicks

Edward was born in 1854 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Edward's father was Nathaniel R. Hicks and his mother was Jannett Gregg.  His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Hicks and Mary Smith; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Gregg and Jannette Allison. He had a brother and six sisters, named Abraham, Mary Jane, Sarah Rebecca, Martha, Rachel Katherine, Margaret Adeline and Julie Annis.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
