Ogburn was born in 1820 in Hawkins Co., TN.1 Ogburn's father was Henry Harvey Hale and his mother was Esther Brotherton. His paternal grandparents were Ogburn Or Ogden Hale and Lovina Hobgood; his maternal grandparents were William Brotherton and Esther Bone. He had three brothers named William, Alexander and John. He was the second oldest of the four children.-
