Elizabeth was born on May 10th, 1798 in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Elizabeth's father was Thomas Gillenwater and her mother was Mary Mallory Wilkins. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Gillenwater and Martha; her maternal grandparents were William Wilkins and Elizabeth Terrell. She had four brothers and five sisters, named William Terrell, Robert Wilkins, Joel, Thomas Jefferson, Martha Or Patsy, Nancy, Rachel, Mary Ann and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the ten children.-
