Marshal Elkanah was born on May 22nd, 1876 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.1 Marshal Elkanah's father was George Washington Droke and his mother was Christina Morton. His paternal grandparents were John Droke and Isabel Wolford. He had seven brothers and a sister, named William James, John Martin, Samuel Isaac, Joseph Benjamin, David Miller, Thomas Bruce, Charles Wolford and Susan Eleanor. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
