Hobart Clay Deckard

Hobart Clay was born in 1898 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Hobart Clay's father was James Wesley Deckard and his mother was Julie Annis Hicks.  His maternal grandparents were Nathaniel R. Hicks and Jannett Gregg. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Eugene Blake, James Elkins, Susan Elizabeth, Bertha Jane and Mattie Emmaline.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 26 in 1924.¹
