Jefferson Davis

Jefferson was born in 1851 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   Jefferson's father was George Washington Davis and his mother was Leah.  His paternal grandparents were Hezekiah Davis and Amelia Or Milly Johnson. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Hezekiah, Elizabeth, Milla, Sarah, Rachel, Minerva, Margaret and Emma.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.
