His paternal grandparents were William De DACRE and Mary UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Ralph De NEVILLE and Margaret De Stafford. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Richard, George, Humphrey, John, RAFF, Joan and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
