Ruby Naomi was born on July 12th, 1893.1 Ruby Naomi's father was James Knox Polk Cox and her mother was Louisa J. Missouri Carter. Her paternal grandparents were James Wilkerson Cox and Cornelia Abbela Hood; her maternal grandparents were William Carter and Kinser. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Robert Martin, Thomas Franklin, James Clarence, Raymond Alvis, William Leslie, Virgil Alton, Cora Sallie, Callie Amelia, Lydia Isabel and Clara Chrisman. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
