Maudie Childress 
Maudie was born on October 22nd, 1891 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.1 Maudie's father was John Wesley Childress and her mother was Nancy Ellen Shipley. Her paternal grandparents were William Burton Childress and Elizabeth Dickson; her maternal grandparents were William H. Shipley and Mary Jane Moody. She had a brother and four sisters, named James Paul, Mattie E., Ida Sarah Edna, Cordie and Bertha Vinette. She was the third youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 89 on December 17th, 1980.1 -
