Mary Chestnut

Mary was born in 1854 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ Mary's father was Henry Chestnut and her mother was Eliza Kirkpatrick. Her maternal grandparents were John Kirkpatrick and Judith Roark. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, David and Parlee. She was the second oldest of the four children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Hugh, Samuel and Bitha Jane.
