William Charles 
William was born about 1844 in Tennessee.1 William's father was Arlington J. Charles and his mother was Martha A. Delafield. His paternal grandparents were Stephen K. Charles and Mary Knowles. He had three sisters named Amanda, Mary and Tabitha. He was the second oldest of the four children.-
