Jane Carpenter 
Jane was born in 1848 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Jane's father was Allen Carpenter and her mother was Sarah Altom. Her paternal grandparents were Yelberton Carpenter and Hannah Allen; her maternal grandparents were William Altom and Katherine Price. She had ten brothers and four sisters, named Wilson, John, William, Wiley, Robert, James, Gabriel, Jack, George, Andrew, Mary, Rachel, Rachel and Martha. She was the sixth oldest of the fifteen children.-
