Margaret was born about 1718 in ,Chowan, NC.1 Margaret's father was William Bryant and her mother was Patience Dew. Her paternal grandparents were James Bryant and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were John Dew and Susannah Shearer. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, William, Sarah, Rachel and Patience. She was the oldest of the six children.-
