Buckner; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Ewalt and Cynthia Pugh. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Ewalt, Harry, Buckner, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Mary and Nellie. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
