John Thomas Barnes 
John Thomas was born on January 2nd, 1839 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.1 John Thomas' father was William Barnes and his mother was Rebecca Cross. His paternal grandparents were John Barnes and Catherine Stokes; his maternal grandparents were Elijah Cross and Catherine Cook. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Elijah Cross, William E., Frederick C., Catherine, Elizabeth Ellen, Louvina, Rebecca, Saraphina and Susanna. He died at the age of 76 on April 13th, 1915.1 -
