Adam Stephen Barnes

Adam Stephen was born in 1817 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Adam Stephen's father was John Barnes and his mother was Catherine Stokes.  His paternal grandparents were William Barnes and Honor Sullivan. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Noah David, Benjamin L., Frederick D., James, John, Mary Ann, Susannah, Eleanor and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 68 in 1885.¹
