Philip was born in 1789 in Maryland.1   Philip's father was John Acton and his mother was Hester (Hettie) Ward.  His maternal grandparents were John Ward and Mary UNKNOWN. He had four brothers and a sister, named John B., Joseph, James, Joshua and Dianna (Anna).  He died at the age of 73 on November 19th, 1862 in Newton IN.1
