Mary Melvina was born in April 1816 in Williamstown, Lancaster Co., PA.1 Mary Melvina's father was Mathias Slaymaker and her mother was Rebecca Ferree. Her paternal grandparents were John Slaymaker and Mary Peck; her maternal grandparents were Isaac Ferree and Mary Ferree. She had a brother named John Mathias. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 27 in 1843.General Notes
