Henry was born in 1831 in NC. Henry's father was Levi Jones and his mother was Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Harvill . His paternal grandparents were Moses Jones and Ruth Busby; his maternal grandparents were James Harvill and Hannah UNKNOWN. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Daniel, David, Levi, John, Nathan, Abigail, Lucy, Anna, Sophia and Katherine. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.-
