John was born in 1634 in Carlton Manor Kingston on Hull Yorkshire E. John's father was Thomas Newton and his mother was Johan Eyon. His paternal grandparents were John Newton and Katherine Paston; his maternal grandfather was James Eyon. He had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Andrew, William, Thomas, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Baby. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 63 in 1697 in Westmoreland VA.General Notes
