His/her paternal grandparents were John Newton and Katherine Paston; his/her maternal grandfather was James Eyon. He/she had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Andrew, William, Thomas, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha. He/she was the youngest of the nine children.-
