Rhoda Ann was born on March 18th, 1857 in Edgecombe Co NC. Rhoda Ann's father was Jonathan Ellis * and her mother was Mary Elizabeth Ritter *. Her paternal grandparents were William Ellis and Nancy UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Lewis Franklin Ritter and Elizabeth Coltrain . She was an only child. She died at the age of 45 in 1902 in Falls Co TX or Cheek Co OK.General Notes
Committed Suicide by shooting herself after the death of a 5 year old son, as told to me and Jean by Ann Lewis who said that Emily Williams had told her one day because she was angry about some event.This had been a family secret. Rhoda's parents, birth place and DOB are documented from Families fo Falls County , from Falls Co Historical Society. Obtained from Falls Co TX website.marriage date taken from Powers Chapel information on the internet. Gives date in reference to James David Williams marriage to Rhoda Ellis. I think Rhoda may have died at Cheek OK,this info said the family was in Tx by 1906. He remarried 1907
