‌Levi and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony on June 12th, 1862 in Madison County, Alabama.  They had five sons and three daughters, named David Zachary, John Birdwell, Reuben R., James Levi, Benjamin, Ellen C., Mary Alabama and Martha Elizabeth.
