Spencer Tunnell

Spencer was born in 1833 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.  Spencer's father was Wesley Tunnell and his mother was Rebecca Ball.  His paternal grandparents were James Tunnell and Jane Ball; his maternal grandfather was John Ball. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Isaac, James, David, William F., Louisa and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.
