Caswell Carpenter Tate 
Caswell Carpenter was born about 1838 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Caswell Carpenter's father was David Tate and his mother was Nancy Caroline Kelly. His paternal grandparents were Edward Tate and Sarah McMullen. He had a brother and three sisters, named John Kelly, Happy Caroline, Worthy and Marena. He was the youngest of the five children. He died on December 2nd, 1863 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.-
