Charley Spires 
Charley was born in 1861 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Charley's father was Thomas Spires Or Spears and his mother was Orlena Barr Or Bare. His paternal grandparents were Gillam Spires Or Spears and Elizabeth Everhart. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Henry, Sarah, Mary and Amanda. He was the second oldest of the six children.
