Joseph Pruitt 
Joseph was born about 1755 in , , Virginia. Joseph's father was Michael Pruitt and his mother was Elizabeth Simkins. His maternal grandparents were John Simkins and Elizabeth French. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, Elisha, Michael, Byrd, Robert, Joshua, Rachel, Judith and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.-
