Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan McLain and Catherine Light; her maternal grandparents were Branch Tucker and Phebe Jones. She had nine brothers and a sister, named George James, Henry Bailey, Oscar Haywood, Spencer Lucas, Robert Taylor, Jonathan Tucker, Ellis Birl, Richard Murrell, Orin Hailey and Effie Phoebe. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died on April 2nd, 1883 in Honeycutt, Hawkins, Tennessee.-
