Branch was born on August 28th, 1821 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Branch's father was Williamson Tucker and his mother was Margaret Feagins. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Tucker and Patsy; his maternal grandparents were William Feagins and Jane Winstead. He had four sisters named Mary, Rebecca, Jane and Martha. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 78 on June 1st, 1900.-
