Claiborne was born about 1806 in Hawkins Co., TN. Claiborne's father was William John Kyle and his mother was Rebecca Young. His paternal grandparents were Robert Kyle and Leah Brooks; his maternal grandfather was Robert Young. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Willie Blount, Robert Guston, Absalom, Ambrose, William, Mary and Rebecca. He died in 1867 in Hayes Co., TX.-
