John Koontz 
John was born on May 6th, 1807 in , Monroe, West Virginia. John's father was Henry Koontz and his mother was Elizabeth Bowyer. His maternal grandparents were Adam Bowyer and Christine Louderback. He had six brothers and three sisters, named George, William, Charles, Andrew, Samuel, Alexander, Sarah, Susannah and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the ten children.-
