Henry J. was born in 1860 in Virginia. Henry J.'s father was William Kite and his mother was Elizabeth Kite. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Kite and Susannah Kite. He had four brothers and four sisters, named James, Philip, George Martin, Fielding Wise, Mary Jane, Barbara, Elizabeth and Arabella. He was the youngest of the nine children.-
