Walter D. Hicks 
Walter D. was born in 1873 in Arcadia, Sullivan County, Tennessee. Walter D.'s father was Wesley Fletcher Hicks and his mother was Caroline Green Fitch. His paternal grandparents were James George Hicks and Mary Magdalene Kettering; his maternal grandparents were Henry Fitch and Mary Green. He had six brothers and three sisters, named David Fleming, Samuel Patton, Thomas Hugh, John Wesley, James Mitchell, Mack Lynn, Nancy Jane, Mary Angelina and Ella Ruth. He had a half-brother named William Henry. He died at the age of 94 in 1967 in Kingsport, Tennessee.-
