Katherine was born about 1780 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee. Katherine's mother was Elizabeth Groves. Her maternal grandparents were John Grove and Anne. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Henry, Jacob, Elizabeth, Catherine, Margaret, Nancy, Christian Ann and Mary. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died before 1811 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.-
