Samuel Elsea 
Samuel was born in 1848 in Of Sullivan County, TN. Samuel's father was James Ellison Elsea and his mother was Ann Strickler. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Elsea and Ina Coxe; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Strickler and Sarah Ann Frazier. He had a brother and three sisters, named Isaac, Sarah, Mary Caroline and Amanda. He was the oldest of the five children. He had three half-sisters named Alice, Josephine and Hannah.-
