John S. Dyer 
John S. was born in 1826 in , Greene, Tennessee. John S.'s father was Abraham Dyer and his mother was Docia Coatney. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Dyer and Ruth; his maternal grandfather was George Coatney. He had six brothers and three sisters, named George Washington, Abraham, Samuel A., William S., Solomon M., Stephen C., Ruth, I. Elisa and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died before 1873.
