Mattie Emmaline Deckard

Mattie Emmaline was born in 1895 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.  Mattie Emmaline's father was James Wesley Deckard and her mother was Julie Annis Hicks.  Her maternal grandparents were Nathaniel R. Hicks and Jannett Gregg. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Eugene Blake, James Elkins, Hobart Clay, Susan Elizabeth and Bertha Jane.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 81 in 1976.
