Samuel Cotton 
Samuel's father was John Bertie Cotton and his mother was Martha Jones. His paternal grandparents were John Cotton and Anne Hutcheson; his maternal grandparents were Frederick Jones and Sarah. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Alexander Spotswood, John, Joseph, William, Martha, Susannah and Cotton. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Arthur, James, Thomas, Patience and Priscilla. He died in 1774 in , Northampton, N.C..-
