James Cope 
James was born in 1836 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. James' father was Wiley Cope and his mother was Nancy Brewer. His paternal grandparents were William Cope and Nancy. He had a brother and three sisters, named Hurd, Manila, Amanda and Mahulda. He was the oldest of the five children.
