Tipton Buttry 
Tipton was born in 1861 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Tipton's father was James Buttry and his mother was Jane Ausburn. His paternal grandparents were William Buttry and Levisa King. He had four brothers and two sisters, named David C., George, Jesse, Jacob, Levisa and Nancy. He was the youngest of the seven children.
