Adam Bowyer was born about 1802 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Adam Bowyer's father was William Minnis Arnott and his mother was Susannah Bowyer. His paternal grandparents were John Arnott and Isabel; his maternal grandparents were Adam Bowyer and Christine Louderback. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Jacob, Andrew B., William M., Elizabeth, Nancy, Frances and Susannah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
