William Anderson Alvis 
William Anderson was born on March 10th, 1810 in , Hanover, Virginia. William Anderson's father was Charles Dabney Alvis and his mother was Rebecca Arnall. His maternal grandparents were Henry Arnall and Mary. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Elias Henry, Charles D., George W., John M., Thaddeus Jackson, Joseph H., Thomas Jefferson, Mary Ann Susan and Virginia Rebecca. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 89 on February 28th, 1900 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.-
