George W. Alvis 
George W. was born on March 10th, 1810 in , Hanover, Virginia. George W.'s father was Charles Dabney Alvis and his mother was Rebecca Arnall. His maternal grandparents were Henry Arnall and Mary. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Elias Henry, Charles D., William Anderson, John M., Thaddeus Jackson, Joseph H., Thomas Jefferson, Mary Ann Susan and Virginia Rebecca. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
