"A Collection of Upwards of 30,000 Names of German, Swiss, Dutch and
Other Nationalities in PA from 1727-1776"
Oct. 25, 1746. Foreigners imported in the ship Neptune, Thomas Wilkinso
n, Master, from Rotterdam, last from England:
Nicklas Kauffeld
George Kauffeld
Johannes Kauffeld
Note: Dan Bly in his book "From the Rhine to the Shenandoah" states
that George, son of Nicholas, was the one that immigrated with his
father in 1746, not his brother, George, who died in 1733 in Germany.
Marriages: George married twice to Elnora, 27 May 1750 in York Co., PA
and Anna Clara Wolf, ca.1758, sisters. Source - "From the Rhine to the Shenandoah". If this is true, it makes sense that George would have been born in 1724, rather than the 1740's as " The Coffelt History Notebook" claims.

"Shenandoah Co., VA Deed Book Z", pg. 188, 31 March 1819:
George Kauffelt's children sell their interest in 200 acres of land on Stony Creek, Shenandoah Co., VA, to John McAfee for £800. The land had been willed to them by Jacob Woolf, the elder (Anna Wolf's father was Jacob
). Children named without spouses are John Adam, Margaret, Clara, and Susanna Sine (apparently she and Peter divorced, as he is named as Christina's husband, who he married in 1817). Other couples named - Peter Sine and Christina, Jacob Coffelt and Jane, and Henry Bower and Magdalene. There is also a Philip Sine and Mary ?. Most of them signed with an "X". Henry Bower signed his name in German.
